PBI/Gordon Adds More Spanish Information to Web Site
PBI/Gordon Corp., Kansas City, Mo., has announced the publication of two new Spanish labels on its corporate Web site: Trimec Southern Broadleaf Herbicide and Trimec Plus Selective Grass and Weed Herbicide. Material Safety Data for the products is also available on line in Spanish.
“We are responding to the industry’s need for Spanish language materials to be used in training the Hispanic workforce,” explains Bill Brocker, vice president of marketing for PBI/Gordon, “and we are offering labeling and Material Safety Data which will assist these efforts.”
In recent years the Hispanic work force has grown rapidly—four times as fast as non-Hispanic workers, according to Bureau of Labor Statistics. In fact, the Spanish speaking population in the United States now accounts for over 13 percent of the total population and may now be the nation’s largest minority population.
“We feel that anything we can do to assure an accurate understanding of the EPA-approved product labeling and Material Safety Data for the Hispanic work force is an important aspect to product stewardship in today’s workplace,” explained Brocker. “We want to do everything possible to help all users of our products to understand proper handling and application.”
PBI/Gordon now has seven product labels and Material Safety Data Sheets available on line, which can be downloaded and printed for use in training Hispanic employees, including SpeedZone, SpeedZone Southern, Trimec Classic, Trimec 992, Trimec Southern and Trimec Plus. They are also plan to translate some basic information concerning sprayer calibration, measurement conversions and basic application terminology.
PBI/Gordon will continue to add Spanish versions of its product labels and MSDS information to the Web site, making the most widely used products the priority. PBI/Gordon’s Spanish labels and MSDS sheets can be accessed on the corporate Web site at www.pbigordon.com or by calling Gordon’s customer service at 800-821-7925.
