Profile Products LLC, a manufacturer of erosion control products and inorganic soil amendments, has named Sam Stimmel as director of ProfileGolf, the business unit encompassing all Profile products used in the construction, maintenance and rebuilding of golf courses.

In announcing the appointment, John Schoch, president of Profile Products, said, "Sam Stimmel has literally grown up with the golf course construction and maintenance industry. His experience will be vital in helping course architects, builders and superintendents understand and expand the use of our products."

Stimmel is well versed in Profile products and operations, having served with the company from 1998 until 2002, first as a regional sales manager and later as national sales and project manager for Profile and Turface. He rejoins the company after holding the post of grounds and sports turf manager for E.H. Griffith, Inc. Stimmel is based in Pittsburgh, Pa.

The new director of ProfileGolf studied turfgrass management at Pennsylvania State University, University Park. Since beginning his business career, he has been active in turf-related professional organizations. They include the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America, Penn State Turfgrass Alumni Association, Ohio Turfgrass Foundation, Agricultural Technical Institute-Ohio State University, Pennsylvania Turfgrass Council and the Sports Turf Managers Association.
