Shindaiwa Wins TruGreen Contract

Shindaiwa Inc., manufacturer of outdoor power equipment for landscape, woodcutting and construction applications, has announced it has entered into a major national account agreement as a preferred supplier to TruGreen Companies of Memphis, Tenn.

Shindaiwa was awarded the contract after a rigorous 6-month evaluation period that included 90-day “bootcamp” field trials in four different regions of the country. The trials subjected Shindaiwa’s tools to harsh conditions and rough handling by professional users. But the equipment came through. “Shindaiwa met our requirements for performance, emissions, safety and productivity,” TruGreen LandCare president Rick Ascolese said. “We’re excited about this preferred supplier agreement both because it serves us now and offers significant cooperative product development opportunities for the future.”

The two companies plan to team up on development of safety and performance-oriented product enhancements that benefit landscape professionals and their customers.
