At the summer board of directors meeting of the Sports Turf Managers Association (STMA), the board approved locating the 2009 Annual Conference and Exhibition in San Jose, Calif. This site is part of the east-to-west rotation pattern that STMA has implemented to make the annual event easily accessible to its members. San Jose was selected because it is the high-tech epicenter of the U.S. This supports STMA’s goal to have its conference be the preeminent venue to learn about technological advances in sports field management.

The conference and exhibition will be Jan. 14-17, 2009, at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center. The San Jose Marriott and Hilton San Jose & Towers connect to the convention center and will be co-conference hotels.

STMA will be in San Antonio, Texas, in 2007 (Jan. 17-20); Phoenix, Ariz. in 2008; and Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort and Convention Center in Orlando, Fla., in 2010.
