Wie’s Team Finishes First at Deere Run

Not surprisingly the player most closely watched by spectators at the John Deere Golf & Turf One Source Superintendent Pro-Am was golf phenom Michelle Wie. And, in the end, hers was the team to follow. The five-person team of key industry players, including Wie, former John Deere Classic champion Dan Forsman, superintendent Ken Mangum, GCSAA’s Steve Mona, and John Deere One Source national sales manager Jim Langston, took home top honors with a solid 18 under par, net 53.

The pro-am drew a large roster, with more than 40 golf courses from Asia, Canada, Ireland, the U.S. and the U.K. represented at Deere Run. The tournament provides loyal John Deere customers a unique opportunity to see the latest John Deere products in action and visit with some of the top names in the game. This year, golf course superintendents, owners and architects played alongside One Source partners, John Deere distributors and pros like Forsman, Glen Hnatiuk and Wes Short during the eighth annual event.
