Winners Selected For Bayer Superintendent Grant Program
For the second straight year, Bayer Environmental Science and The Environmental Institute for Golf are sending five lucky golf course superintendents to the Golf Industry Show (combining the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America's International Conference and Show and the National Golf Course Owners Association Trade Show) in Orlando, Feb. 7-12.
The purpose of the Bayer Superintendent Grant Program is to assist superintendents with their professional development through participation in the events at the annual conference and trade show. Winners will receive airfare, hotel accommodations for six nights, conference full-pack registration, two educational seminars (half-day, one-day or two-day), two tickets to the President’s Celebration and a $200 expense stipend.
The winners were drawn after the Sept. 13 deadline, and notified on Sept. 30. Any superintendent who hadn't attended GCSAA's conference and show in the last two years (San Diego and Atlanta) was eligible to apply.
"Bayer is committed to the professional development of the golf course superintendent and believes that the Golf Industry Show is an important part of their continuing education,” said Eric Kalasz, Bayer Environmental Science golf market manager/fungicide business manager. “We are pleased to continue the partnership with The Environmental Institute for Golf to fund this grant to benefit the golf course management community.”
